Located on the fringe of Kingston, this commercial development takes precedent from the surrounding buildings though a prominent material palette consisting predominantly of concrete, timber and metal sheet cladding with greenery scattered throughout. With a sloping site directly off Church Street, the proposal required specific considerations for maximal commercial tenancy on the ground floor, as well as two levels of residential apartments above.
The mixed use development is an appropriate response to this site and compliments the mix of uses and facilities in the surrounding area. The proposed combination of commercial and residential uses supports and contributes positively to the existing character of the place and the site considerations of Kingborough.
