The Cygnet Football Club is an Australian Rules Football Club playing in the Southern Football League, also known as the SFL, in Tasmania, Australia. With regular training sessions and weekend matches, the original metal halides standing at eight metres were old and barely met the minimal lighting requirements for training purposes. The club’s ultimate goal was to play night matches; club competition at 200 lux as per AS2560.2.3.
Partnering with White Electrical and EWM, the oval required a major lighting upgrade that involved a precise lighting design, new poles and light fittings. Obtrusive light levels to the nearby residences were taken into careful consideration. In order to achieve 200 lux, a total of 36, 1350W Asymmetric Floodlights were included in the design. Mounted on four 30 metre poles, the VERTEX Floodlights not only perform to a superior level but look super impressive.
